Holy Spirit has a wide variety of ministries that have something to offer each and every Parishioner. There are many different opportunities for members to provide their time and talents towards helping the Church fulfill its' mission, and Holy Spirit welcomes everyone to participate.
Sunday Worship Ministries - These are all of the many opportunities that Parishioners have to make our weekly worship services special. These include the choir, Eucharistic ministers, Sunday school teachers, ushers, greeters, lectors, acolytes, hospitality and butterflies. (Link Empty)
Christian education is alive and well at Holy Spirit. Adult Christian ed classes are held between services on Sundays. Our Children's education program takes place during the first part of the service. Children return to church to take part in the Eucharist.
St. Mathilda's ECW
The St. Mathilda's chapter of the Episcopal Church Women (ECW) at Holy Spirit are instrumental in supporting our church through a variety of ways. From fundraising to supporting special events at Holy Spirit such as the Maundy Thursday Agape Meal, our Annual Scholarship Tea Party and the ever popular Cookie and Craft Sale during the holiday, these women provide a strong support for our church as well as fellowship for women of all ages.
Daughters of the King
We are a group of Christian women striving to fulfill the promises of our Baptismal Covenant through the adoption of a Rule of Life:
- To continue in the Apostles’ teaching and fellowship, in the breaking of bread and in the prayers.
- To persevere in resisting evil, and when we fall into sin, repent and return to the Lord.
- To proclaim by word and example the Good News of God in Christ.
- To seek and serve Christ in all persons, loving your neighbor as yourself.
- To strive for justice and peace among all people and to respect the dignity of every human being.
At Confirmation, we promise to pray, work, and give for the spread of Christ’s Kingdom. Through membership in our Order women are:
- Strengthened through prayer
- Helped to learn through study
- Provided a community with other Daughters
We are a group of women living a Rule of Prayer and Service to our neighbors. We are women to whom parishioners can look for love and for help in time of need, loneliness or strangeness. We seek to walk with God as our guide and try to draw those with whom we come in contact into the Church. We are women who work to spread Christ’s Kingdom here on earth. We can never forget that prayer is the foundation from which our service grows.
“Prayer without work is empty words, service without prayer is labor lost.”
We find The Order of the Daughters of the King® to be a safe place in a busy world where we can be together and support each other in Christ’s love.

Altar and Flower Guild
The Holy Spirit Altar Guild is a parish group of women and men organized for the purpose of preparing the altar for celebrations of the Eucharist and other services, and cleaning up afterwards. It is also their responsibility to make sure there are enough supplies (i.e. wine, wafers, oil for candles, baptismal candles, etc.), making sure all linens and priests’ vestments are clean and in good repair, and brass and silver are polished.
Altar Guild: Carol Sink, Laura Thornton, Carmen Costinett, Martha Pasley.
The Altar Flower Guild is responsible for providing fresh floral arrangements or greens to enhance the altar and glorify God at regular Sunday worship services. The guild may also provide floral arrangements for other special occasions.
Flower Guids: Twig Morris (chair), Marie LaCroix, Laurie Purvis, Claire Schrotenboer, Mary Lu Wells, Nora Williams
Additional members are always welcome. No experience necessary!
The music program at Holy Spirit strives to be diverse in its offerings. From our regular choral program, to contemporary, cursillo, Taize and gospel, the musicians at Holy Spirit like to shake things up. Laura Thornton is our Music Director and coordinator, with Hillary Ringle as our Organist and Accompanist. Our choir is a small choir boasting 12 dedicated members. Other musicians include our instrumentalists David Weeks, Carol Sink, Sandra Wertz, Linda Sullivan, Jim Barnette and Fran Hunt.
